一區(qū)SCI審稿意見求助,null and alternative hypotheses?怎樣組織文章結(jié)構(gòu)?撓破頭了 已有1人參與

年初投了一篇一區(qū)sci期刊,為學(xué)科頂級(jí)期刊,經(jīng)過六個(gè)月的審稿,得到了兩份意見。其中一個(gè)審稿人比較nice,意見非常positive;另一個(gè)審稿人則對(duì)文章態(tài)度完全不一樣,提出了非常嚴(yán)苛的審稿意見(當(dāng)然,我很感激他的1500 words的comments和pdf上密密麻麻的標(biāo)注)。一些小的毛病修改完以后,對(duì)其在審稿意見中提出的一個(gè)primary shortcoming現(xiàn)在無所適從了,請(qǐng)大家?guī)兔Ψ治龇治觥。。由于是個(gè)文章結(jié)構(gòu)性的問題,我把具體的細(xì)節(jié)內(nèi)容刪掉了,這樣蟲友們應(yīng)該都能看懂。。。 The authors state that the objectives of the paper are to: XXX These are good objectives, that if met will make a useful contribution to the scientific literature. However, as presented, the paper falls short in meeting these objectives. To begin with, the paper would be improved if the authors used their survey of the literature in the introduction, to specifically define the important unresolved scientific questions that the objectives of their research will address. In order to address the scientific question and address their objectives, the authors should then state null and alternative hypotheses that they will address in the paper and then describe a research/experiment plan that will then allow them to test these hypotheses. As the paper is currently written, it is basically a description of XXX XXX XXX. The description is then followed by some general speculation about relationships among changes XXX XXX XXX. I believe that if they more specifically define the research questions and then use this to define null and alternative hypotheses that they then specifically test, by specifically defining how the XXX XXX XXX, and then compare the results of their analyses to intervals during which they can control which variables are more dominant, the paper will make a much more significant contribution to the scientific literature. There are already too many geoscience papers in which people provide descriptions of XXX XXX XXX and then provide some general speculation about what the cause of the variation. Our science has evolved beyond the point of general exploratory research. There is now a pretty good literature base available on the results of investigations XXX XXX XXX. There needs to be more integration of the results of these types of investigations with the observations from investigations of the ancient record so that we can determine whether these XXX XXX XXX analogs actually provide realistic depictions of XXX XXX XXX. If they work, great, but if there is a disconnect between the these analogs, then we have to re-evaluate the premises and assumptions on which these models are based and then do more experiments. This is the only way that our science can evolve and develop a larger predictive capability. There is a huge opportunity for the authors of this manuscript to make a significant contribution in this area, once they approach their investigation from more of an experimental perspective and less as a qualitative description of a system. I find the issues described above as a primary shortcoming of the manuscript and as a reason that the manuscript should not be published until significant revisions are made to address this shortcoming. 其余為小毛病,改起來難度不大。 審稿人多次提及要提出假說null and alternative hypotheses,然后證明假說,這應(yīng)該是怎樣的文章結(jié)構(gòu)啊? 哎,這個(gè)感覺跟之前三區(qū)sci的感覺真是完全不同,嚴(yán)苛至極啊,上面只是不到一半的comment。另外,這個(gè)審稿人既然花了這么大的力氣幫我修改,會(huì)不會(huì)對(duì)我的文章還是有些興趣的?有沒有蟲友遇到幫你修改了半天又?jǐn)赖舻那闆r? 請(qǐng)蟲友們幫忙分析分析。。。感激涕零啊 |

審稿人可能是這個(gè)意思,舉個(gè)例子說下,可能不恰當(dāng): 審稿人認(rèn)為你是從定性角度說明問題,例如:在寒冷冬天時(shí),水會(huì)結(jié)冰。 審稿人要求從科學(xué)角度考慮問題。先給出假設(shè):在溫度小于0度時(shí),水會(huì)結(jié)冰;然后,通過實(shí)驗(yàn)或者數(shù)學(xué)方法證明該假設(shè)的成立。 |
