Kind regards, Prof Bettinelli Editor-in-Chief Journal of Luminescence Editor and reviewer comments -Reviewer #1 - Comments to the Author The manuscript reports surface modification and characterization of 8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum/nano TiO2 connected by a 8-vinyl POSS. However, using nano TiO2 mixed layer is not a new concept, and the devices show dramatic efficiency roll-off. The increase in a fluorescence emission intensity about 33% higher than pure Alq3 is not values for full OLED. Before this paper can be accepted for publication, the authors are suggested to address the following issues. Without basic correction of these points, the novelty and performance of the present manuscript are not valuable. - There are too many grammatical and typo error in the manuscript. - In Page 2, throughout the manuscript, full names should be first written before the abbreviated words, for example, MDMO-PPV, 8-vinyl poss etc. - “8-vinyl poss” should be changed to “8-vinyl POSS” - In Page 3, “an oleic acid-sodium oleate-ethanol-hexane (or not)-H2O system” should be presented more properly. Author cannot understand it “or not”. - In Page 4, what is “reflux condensation □ with magnetic”? - Authors used “8-Alq3” or “Alq3”. Which is correct? - In Page 6, BE (binding energy) is right. - In Page 7, “Fig.6is” is not right. - In Page 8, “radio” should be corrected to “ratio”. - There is no presentation for Fig. 6B (excitation spectra). - Schematic diagram of Alq3/nano TiO2 and Alq3/8-vinyl POSS/nano TiO2 should be given in the text and discuss them. - Did authors measure fluorescence analysis, UV absorption and fluorescent decay of the samples of Alq3/nano TiO2 and Alq3/8-vinyl POSS/nano TiO2 in solution ? -Reviewer #2 - In this paper, the influence on of surface modification by aluminum/nano TiO2 on the luminescent properties of Alq3 was reported. However, the authors should explain more physics of mechanism of influence of TiO2 on increasing of fluorescence emission intensity of composites, because the authors have not substantiated this phenomenon and lead it just as fact. There are some grammar mistakes in the manuscript, and the authors should check carefully and correct them.
