一篇投稿Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A的漫長等待

今年1月7號投文章到Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A， 1月8號文章status變?yōu)椤皍nder consideration”， 3個月后仍不見消息，就給編輯發(fā)了封催稿信，編輯告訴我key reader沒有回音，他一直在email他趕快給出審稿意見。 再過1個月后，仍不見文章的消息，我又發(fā)了封催稿信，編輯告訴我那個key reader 失蹤了，我暈  。編輯說他再找另外的key reader給我審。又過了3個月，我第三次發(fā)催稿信。編輯告訴我，現(xiàn)在找的這個key reader一直沒有回復(fù)，老天啦，什么倒霉事情都讓我給碰上了，我狂汗  。這樣到了9月份，我第四次發(fā)催稿信，編輯告訴我key reader已經(jīng)作了決定了，聽到這個消息，我很高興，現(xiàn)在也不想去擔(dān)心文章被槍斃不槍斃，只是想立即要一個結(jié)果。 苦苦等了一個月還是沒有消息，心里很不爽  ，于是第五次寫催稿信，打算撤稿了。今天打開郵箱看到了編輯給的決定  ：Dear XXX: Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in returning a recommendation on your manuscript. Our review committee has advised us that the material in your manuscript is essentially suitable for publication as a Technical Publication in Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A. However, a considerable mandatory revision has been recommended before publication. This revision is described by the enclosed comments of the review committee. These comments are intended to be constructive; you may assume that if they are used in a reasonable way, the revised manuscript will be approved for publication. I also realize that major comments of the reviewers pertain to the English language of your manuscript and so I hope that it will be possible for you to obtain advice from English-speaking colleagues on how to substantially improve your presentation. This is very important in order to make your paper clear and readable. Your letter of transmittal should indicate explicitly how you have responded to the reviewer comments. The grammar and syntax needs to be fixed; too numerous to be done by the reviewer. It is suggested that help be obtained in fixing this Key Reader (Importance of Contribution): This is a good paper that contains new results pertaining to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. The results are of both scientific and technological interest. Key Reader (Remarks to the Author): With due respect, please have someone with a good knowledge of English go through the manuscript and correct the grammar and construction of sentences.
