一篇投稿Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A的漫長等待

今年1月7號投文章到Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A， 1月8號文章status變?yōu)椤皍nder consideration”， 3個月后仍不見消息，就給編輯發(fā)了封催稿信，編輯告訴我key reader沒有回音，他一直在email他趕快給出審稿意見。 再過1個月后，仍不見文章的消息，我又發(fā)了封催稿信，編輯告訴我那個key reader 失蹤了，我暈  。編輯說他再找另外的key reader給我審。又過了3個月，我第三次發(fā)催稿信。編輯告訴我，現(xiàn)在找的這個key reader一直沒有回復(fù)，老天啦，什么倒霉事情都讓我給碰上了，我狂汗  。這樣到了9月份，我第四次發(fā)催稿信，編輯告訴我key reader已經(jīng)作了決定了，聽到這個消息，我很高興，現(xiàn)在也不想去擔心文章被槍斃不槍斃，只是想立即要一個結(jié)果。 苦苦等了一個月還是沒有消息，心里很不爽  ，于是第五次寫催稿信，打算撤稿了。今天打開郵箱看到了編輯給的決定  ：Dear XXX: Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in returning a recommendation on your manuscript. Our review committee has advised us that the material in your manuscript is essentially suitable for publication as a Technical Publication in Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A. However, a considerable mandatory revision has been recommended before publication. This revision is described by the enclosed comments of the review committee. These comments are intended to be constructive; you may assume that if they are used in a reasonable way, the revised manuscript will be approved for publication. I also realize that major comments of the reviewers pertain to the English language of your manuscript and so I hope that it will be possible for you to obtain advice from English-speaking colleagues on how to substantially improve your presentation. The results are of both scientific and technological interest.
