For a long time, since the pioneering work of Robson and coworkers in 1990 [1], aromatic nitrogen-containing heterocycles such as the exo bidentate ligand 4,4’-bipyridine have commonly been employed as building blocks in designing coordination polymers, constructing supramolecular architectures [2], storing energy and catalyzing oxidation [3]. It is noteworthy that a variety of metal organic-inorganic hybrid materials can be prepared from 1D metal-rigid organodiamines, such as pyrazine, 4,4’-bipyridine and their analogues, and sulfate building blocks.
