相中一位老師，以下是我寫(xiě)給一個(gè)老師的套磁信，第一次寫(xiě)，不知道該寫(xiě)成什么樣子，側(cè)重點(diǎn)是什么，還希望有經(jīng)驗(yàn)的人指導(dǎo)一下，我先謝謝了 Dear Dr. XX: My name is XXX, a master student from China. I have learned about your research from website, and I am highly interested in your research on medical imaging and image analysis on life science applications. I want to pursue my Ph.D. in your program. With a GPA of 3.29/4, majoring in automation, I received my bachelor degree at XXUniversity (topX in China) in 2009. Two programs I had taken part in were in relation to medicine. One is the Innovative Project I joined with other 4 students as sophomores, and another is my thesis research (you can find more details in my CV). The experience makes me learn the value of some research and its applicability in some necessary fields attracts me a lot, and I am quite sincere to look for a new starting point in my research and career based on this. Ranking top 1/38 as a master in xx, my research interest focuses on XXprocessing (more details in my CV), and I'll finish my graduate in Jan. 2012. I know that my background in XX may not be quite suitable for your group. But I am quite happy to learn some new knowledge and skills, and I believe I can master new programs/projects quite well. Could you reconsider me as a PHD position in your lab? And if you have openings for that, I would be honored. I attached my C.V and scanned transcript in this letter. |

其實(shí)外國(guó)老板一般來(lái)說(shuō)，很少會(huì)在乎你是第一名，還是第二名．寫(xiě)東西不要以中國(guó)人的思路去寫(xiě)這個(gè)，除非你要去的這個(gè)老板母語(yǔ)就是中文． 二樓修改的地方，樓主需要注意，尤其是 PHD Candidate．．．而不是 PHD. 我的建議是，多寫(xiě)你對(duì)外國(guó)老板的某個(gè)研究領(lǐng)域感興趣，而且你在相關(guān)領(lǐng)域都發(fā)布過(guò)哪些文章，做過(guò)哪些事情．這樣才能讓老板對(duì)你有興趣． 換位思考，如果你是老板，你需要的是一個(gè)成績(jī)不錯(cuò)的人？還是一個(gè)能具備在我課題組里給我做事的人？ 你如果是老板，一個(gè)人想在你的課題組里讀博士，你覺(jué)得，你最需要他在你課題組了做什么？這樣你就會(huì)寫(xiě)第二和第三段了． 最后，預(yù)祝你成功！ |

Ranking top 1/38 as a master in xx 這段看的很別扭, my research interest focuses on XXprocessing 如果有研究成果了突出一下,比如又沒(méi)有什么paper了,這個(gè)地方詳細(xì)寫(xiě)下. (more details in my CV), and I'll finish my graduate in Jan. 2012. I know that my background in XX may not be quite suitable for your group 最好不要寫(xiě)這樣的話,建議換成直接寫(xiě)能為你在未來(lái)的科研中提供怎樣的幫助,比如你有很好的研究基礎(chǔ),基本的儀器,手段你都會(huì). I desire to accept much knowledge and skills, and I believe I could hold new programs/projects quite well. Could you reconsider me as a PHD candidate in your lab?
