Oxford University, Departments of Chemistry (http://www.chem.ox.ac.uk/) and Materials (http://www.materials.ox.ac.uk/) Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Molecular Engineering and Spin Dynamics Grade 7: Salary in the range ￡29,099 to ￡29,972 p.a. / Vacancy ID: 100687 Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position to create molecules containing optically-excited electron spins interacting with nuclear spins, in order to explore intramolecular spin entanglement. The project is part of a collaboration between Dr John Morton (Department of Materials) and Professor Harry Anderson (Department of Chemistry). The post is available for up to three years. Start date: 1 October 2011 (negotiable). Applicants should possess a PhD in chemistry or a related subject. Experience of multi-step organic synthesis, and willingness to learn advanced NMR and EPR spectroscopic techniques, are essential. Closing date for applications: 12:00 noon on 31 August 2011.
