1. The faster the screw speed,the higher the pressure in machine barrel, and thus the greater the friction and the shearing force between the material and the machine barrel,the material and the screw, the material and the material, which is good for the cracking of macromolecules. On this condition, water-soluble components with low molecular weight increases with the increasing degree of cracking of the fiber material, resulting in the rise in the SDF level in the extruded products. However, the material won’t stay long in the machine barrel if the screw speed is too high. 2. Content of water in the material also have an effect on the pressure and shearing force in the cavity. Low content of water is in favor of the increase of the pressure, the friction and the shearing force in the machine barrel, which contribute to the increase in the SDF level. But blockage of the machine will happen if the content of water is too low, which is detrimental to industrial production. |
