Reviewer's comments: I have just one comment or question regarding the high strength being attributed to the coarse grain size of the Ti3Al. One would expect larger cracks to be produced in larger coarse grained brittle material and thus lower strength. Statement extracted from the manuscript: The high strength is attributed to the coarse grain size (~70 μm) of Ti3Al in the laminated composites, compared with previous studies (~15μm). Materials: Ti-Ti3Al laminated composites Tensile temperature: 600oC Question: At elevated tempeartures, the strength of coarse-grained hcp-Ti3Al is higher than that of fine-grained counterpart. 晶界是原子混亂區(qū),具有高能態(tài),在低溫下不會(huì)明顯體現(xiàn)出熱激活的擴(kuò)散效應(yīng),晶界作為不同取向差晶粒間界面,能有效阻礙位錯(cuò)的運(yùn)動(dòng),達(dá)到強(qiáng)化的作用,單位體積內(nèi)越多晶界貢獻(xiàn)越明顯,那么單位體積內(nèi)晶粒個(gè)數(shù)越多,晶界密度就更高,如此就是細(xì)晶強(qiáng)化的來(lái)源; 但是,在高溫下,晶界的高能態(tài)會(huì)強(qiáng)烈熱激活,晶界擴(kuò)散快速通道效果明顯發(fā)生,晶界也會(huì)遷移,同時(shí)高溫下位錯(cuò)受熱激活回復(fù)能力強(qiáng),若還是細(xì)晶顯微組織就會(huì)強(qiáng)度下降,所以在這種情況下,高溫下粗晶材料相比細(xì)晶有強(qiáng)度保證 |
