| Only for photosynthesis something is provided but referring to starch accumulation. Concerning to this last point starch accumulation in Si treated plants is tentatively explained on the basis of an increased transpiration due to Si accumulation in the leaves. However decrease of Na toxicity is possibly due to a decreased transpiration rate (discussed elsewhere and suggested by others); transpiration is not evaluated. So the authors should take a clear decision on which is the real Si effect in their experimental set-up. It is clear, also from the huge literature on the subject, that Si effect is manifold and not easily reconducible to a single effect. In the present paper the accumulation of soluble sugars and starch are interesting results as is the idea that Si might promote conversion of soluble sugars to starch when plants are subjected to NaCl stress; however these aspects are not clearly supported by the data (see e.g soluble sugars in Si-Na-treated plants vs. Na-treated plants: no change) and should be sustained by proper evaluation of the metabolic pathways involving these molecules. |

| 如果沒有光合作用的話，植物只能得到與淀粉積聚有關(guān)的一些營養(yǎng)。關(guān)于最后一點在Si處理過的植物中淀粉的積聚已初步得到解釋，依據(jù)是葉子中Si的聚集使得蒸發(fā)加劇。但是，有毒的Na的減少可能是由于蒸發(fā)速度的降低（已有人在別處提出并討論過）；但蒸發(fā)速度并沒有估算過。所以作者應(yīng)做出清楚的決定，在試驗設(shè)定中Si真正在哪里起作用。清楚的是，從大量的該課題文獻中可知Si的作用是多方面的，很難僅僅只討論一種影響。目前的文獻中，在植物受到NaCl溶壓時Si可能會促進可溶糖轉(zhuǎn)化為淀粉，可溶糖和淀粉的積聚就是這一想法的有趣結(jié)論，但是這些結(jié)論并沒有數(shù)據(jù)的明確支撐（參看例子：Si-Na處理植物和Na處理植物中的可溶糖，無差別），而這些結(jié)論應(yīng)經(jīng)得起包括這些分子在內(nèi)的新陳代謝作用的合理評估。 |

| 關(guān)于光合作用只提供了淀粉積累的數(shù)據(jù)。關(guān)于最后這一點，在Si 處理的植物中淀粉的積累已有了基于葉中Si 積累導(dǎo)致蒸騰作用增加的初步解釋。但是Na 毒性的下降可能是由于蒸騰速率的降低（其他人已提出和討論）；未評估蒸騰作用。因此，作者應(yīng)當(dāng)明確在其實驗設(shè)置中 Si 的實際作用是什么。從大量的此課題文獻可知，Si 的作用是多方面的的，很難歸結(jié)到一種作用。本文中可溶糖和淀粉的積累是有趣的結(jié)果，Si 在植物受 NaCl 脅迫時可促進可溶糖轉(zhuǎn)化為淀粉的理論也很有趣；但是這些方面沒有數(shù)據(jù)的明確支持（參見例如Si-Na處理植物和Na處理植物中的可溶糖：無變化），應(yīng)當(dāng)通過對涉及這些分子的代謝途徑的適當(dāng)評估予以支持。 |
