POST-DOCTORAL JOB OPPORTUNITY AT E2FTC BACKGROUND. The Energy and Environment Fusion Technology Center (E2FTC) of the Department of Energy and Biotechnology (DEB) at Myongji University was established in 2009 in response to the South Korean government’s initiative to replace about 11% of its primary energy with renewables. E2FTC unceasingly aspires in creating and sustaining a research environment in which promising graduate students and researchers can thrive and realize their full potential while supporting the Center’s major thrusts in metabolic engineering and biomass catalysis, and in the development of novel Lithium ion recovery technologies. To uplift this purpose, E2FTC is currently recruiting one (1) postdoc for the metabolic and biological engineering group. Prof. Wook-Jin Chung heads both the E2FTC and DEB. ELIGIBILITY. An applicant must meet the following criteria: Must have completed a Ph. D. degree in Biochemical/Biological/Metabolic Engineering or Microbiology or Biotechnology or any related field Must have at least 1 year experience working with eukaryotic cells (preferably Saccharomyces), specifically on genetic manipulation techniques, metabolic pathway design and manipulation, synthetic biology, genomic/proteomic/metabolomics analaysis. We will not consider candidates specializing only on fermentation engineering, protein/enzyme engineering, biomedical engineering, molecular biology or basic microbiology. A good publication record in SCI journals is required Should possess good command of the English language Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills, positive attitude towards research and considerable flexibility Must submit complete application packet by deadline SELECTION PROCESS. Applicants should submit cover letter, official transcripts and certificate of graduation, curriculum vitae, and a complete list of relevant authored articles published in SCI journals for initial screening. Successful applicants will be notified through e-mail. DETAILS OF COMPENSATION AND BENFITS. Postdoctoral position will start on February 1, 2015. The salary will be KRW 30,000,000 per year and may vary based on the candidate's qualifications. [Average currency exchange rate: one (1) US Dollar ≈ 1,018 KRW].
